Our Vision

The APWU “Together We Win” Team believes that the members are the strong foundation of our union. Your membership, along with the involvement and activism of so many current and retired postal workers, has been the key to our progress and success over many years. We believe that the union belongs to you.

Our Team of incumbent national officers and leaders from the local officer ranks, consists of experienced, dedicated and capable leaders.

Under the visionary leadership of incumbent President Mark Dimondstein, combined with the collective efforts of many APWU leaders and activists, we have made substantial progress over the last five years even in these challenging times.

We have established a record of proven results, not promises.

We are ready and fully prepared to continue to lead the APWU to successfully  face the serious challenges ahead.

We are in the midst of the battle for our new union contract as we head into mediation and interest arbitration proceedings. As lead negotiator in the 2015 contract battle, APWU President Mark Dimondstein led the interest arbitration to a successful outcome, including increasing job security, expanding the career workforce and securing wage increases. We are prepared to bring the same skill and success to the interest arbitration proceedings scheduled to begin soon.

We are already leading the crucial fight against the dual threats of the White House Office of Management and Budget plan to sell the public Postal Service combined with the Presidential Postal Task Force calling for abolishing our collective bargaining rights.

The APWU “Together We Win” Team is prepared to continue to meet the challenges of protecting a secure future for current, retired and the next generation of workers.

We will keep “standing up and fighting back” to best protect our jobs, enforce our contract, fight back against post office closings and privatization, protect our retirees, organize the unorganized, encourage young workers’ leadership, maximize PSE conversions to career, expand rights for PTFs, address management harassment and continue to improve our communications with you.

We will continue the crucial fight to defend and expand the public Postal Service. Our jobs depend on it!

And we will continue to listen and be honest with you, the member -- Always!

We respectfully seek your support and we look forward to working with all of you over the next three years as the struggle continues -- for “Together We Win!"
